Ok this is not really Hardcore, but a lot of the producers on this comp were really top Hardcore producers. Stumbled upon The Kings of Drum + Bass Compilation. I LOVE IT!!! This is perfect for a sunny day, a sultry summery evening.

There was a thread like this where I went mad and started posting loads of chartbusting rave TOTP performances -- it might, in fact, have been this thread. My favorite one was Rubarb & Custard which, like Sesam-Es Treat and Trip to Trumpton and Sweet Harmony and Insanity, I had on cassette single. I had a lot of ravey cassette singles when I was a kid.

Ellis Dee, Red Alert & Slammer, Swan-E, Top Buzz, Manix, Prodigy are the names I actually remember from pre-jungle school-time. And then DJ Rap, Bukem, Kenny Ken, Mickey Finn, and anyone else who showed up on Dreamscape tapes in 1993. You never had a clue what any of the tracks were called, though. I still catch up with tunes on youtube that I haven't heard for over fifteen years and never knew the name of.

^^^

Got this on now, its a blast. Loads of my mates were into this stuff when i was at school. The Bass Generator shop in Newcastle was like Mecca. Never liked it much myself at the time but i can definitely appreciate it more now.

Whats that tune that goes "Funeral or no funeral, I want my money motherfucker!"? I used to like that when i was 13 or summat...So puerile.

Paul Elstak was god back then, lol. The retarded north...
