Beast of Burden
Stench of canned craft beer oozing from every pore, awful breath in the morning, banging the table, annoying the girlfriend who just wants to sleep because she has to get up for work in the morning...

There's a full deconstruction of the statement that that call for investigation was made in here: http://notris.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/corbyn-is-talking-shite-on-syria-again.html

27 April apparently. So three weeks after. I dobut very much he considered the evidence, just strikes the same pose he always does. The striking thing for me is that he doesn't mention Russian obstruction to condeming the gassing through the UN or blocking the investigation.

lol. I can see youve found a dispassionate source there. But regardless, as I said, Im not familiar with the timeline of events.

And makes sense? Oh come on dude. What about the conflict makes sense? It's a charnel house.

"Assad or the country burns". Does that "make sense"?

Hmmm.. Ok, so you have nothing but contempt for the idea that 'i dont know whats going on its extremely complex' but youre happy to embrace the idea that 'nothing makes sense, its chaos'?

It does actually, because these forces don't seem to be as cohesive and confident as they project. The confidence comes from Russian and Iranian support, but government militias are taking on a life of their own, and threatening the authority of the Assad clan. By some accounts.

Yup, this seems like the most plausible explanation to me.

Droid: Did you see the Syria's Disappeared doc? Totally harrowing but interesting re. the rationality/irrationality of war. The "Caesar photos" that were at the centre of the documentary were apparently created by state bureacracy, photographing and documenting the victims. A rational process applied in totally irrational circumstances and inadvertantly creating a massive evidence base against the regime.

Good on you lads. Sit at home in absolute safely and lay into each over a foreign war none of you would ever dare to witness

Yes, he's passionate. Who'd have thought it in discussion of a war crime?

I don't have contempt for the acknowledgement of complexity but as I said above it's clearly used as "supressive fire" by the forces invovled. "It's complex" can be a simple truth, but can also be a hedge against trying to understand and against doing anything. I do have contempt for the cloud of unknowing it when it's applied to specific events that are warcrimes.

We'd better stop talking about this, boys, until we book our tickets to Damascus or join the Peshmerga. Otherwise we are scum for even discussing it. I wouldn't want that moral burden.

Arguing about a country you know nothing about never been to never will no fucking clue sausages

When I was younger I attempted to launch a career as a foreign correspondent. I needed a fixer, so I spent months contacting exiles (Bahraini protestors, pakistani baloch, chinese uighur) and either getting nothing back or being palmed off to other exiles who then wouldn't get back to me. Gave up eventually. Sausages.

Sure - but you have no problem invoking the cloud of chaos when logic points to explanations that don't support your conclusions in relation to those same events?
