I was hesitant to post that Kreayshawn tune for obvious hipster-hating reasons. Whenever I'm in the gym there's a couple of videos on the TVs featuring East LDN trustafarian girls rapping ironically about wearing socks. It does my meat-head in.
Still, no point denying that I like the tune. Perhaps its just the ''Gucci, Gucci, Gucci'' hook that makes me think that Gucci Mane would fit perfectly over that beat (not to mention that her flow on this reminds me of Gucci on ''My Kitchen'' or ''Yellow'') - that cartoonish feel to it, the flying-saucer synth.

i like it. th only thing that jars me a bit is the kayneisms.
Yeah, I got this too - ''back against the wawwwwl''. Reminds me of Drake (urgh). Pusha did it on ''Fear of God'' quite a lot, too. The thing is when I hear it it puts me off listening to a rapper, I quickly write them off as generic if they do it (and having ''Bittersweet Symphony'' in the background doesn't help in that respect). I suppose its just one of the 'stock' styles of post-Kanye rap, though.
I really like ''Purple Swag'' and the Max-B esque ''Get High'' is quite good too.
New Curren$y, taken from upcoming album ''Weekend at Burnies'' (coming out June 28th). Quite good, his flow is as strong as ever and the beat (by Monsta Beatz, who's producing the whole thing) is solid too. The thing is I feel that on 'Covert Coup' Alchemist really brought that soulful, guitar-heavy, spaced-out but urgent production to the next level, whereas Curren$y's stock producers (Ski Beatz/Monsta) can sometimes make tunes which are a bit bland and muzak-y, too close to REAL 'Elevator Music'... that's what the low-points of 'Pilot Talk' 1 and 2 feel like to me. But obviously both Ski and Monsta (particularly Ski) are capable of making brilliant beats.
Curren$y's flow never really seems to change all that much but I think Alchemist did bring the best out in him, or matched him somehow. When a Curren$y beat is middling it makes the music as a whole almost TOO smooth, lacking any tension, in cruise control down the middle of the (sun-kissed and smooth californian) road.
