Instead for a security response commensurate with the threat there were a few underequipped police who waved protestors through and invited them to take... To take... Er.... Whatever that building is called.
Now, my assumption is this was an event intended to draw a clear line under the Trump era and give people like Pence and the republican establishment on the one hand a reason to cut ties (which would otherwise be an entirely arbitrary decision. Why now? After all his outrages and crimes?) and on the other a reason for the tech overlords to shut him out of the cyberworld
All with the ultimate aim of getting the big show back on the road

The lack of security could be because the racism and other biases of those allocating the security for the day meant that they felt there was no need for heightened security because they felt the protestors would be law abiding (as opposed to BLM).
Or it could simply be vanity on the part of Trump or people close to him. Militarised security would look bad.
It's impossible to know whether Luka's theory or those are what happened and I am not a conspiracy theorist so won't be getting into that.

Today's news is that Parler has been hacked. It's all a bit techy but seems like
Parler security was bad.
Many Parler users deleted posts etc after the riot but these were still accessible to the hackers.
Parler unlike other social media platforms does not remove geolocation data from photos and other media uploaded to it
Verified users of Parler need to supply scans of the front and back of driving licenses which will now be accessible to the hackers.
There is some suggestion that the no-fly lists that were drawn up by the FBI in the aftermath of the 6th of Jan were something to do with this.

Surely Occam's razor suggests that the PGA wouldn't have given a shit if 6th Jan had been a boring rally? Why would a golf tournament need to distance itself from Trump otherwise?
