Way of the future
The internet went boom on these guys like boingboing put it (http://www.boingboing.net/2010/02/03/more-on-die-antwoord.html)

This stuff creeps me out but fascinates me at the same time. The band members are artists and this kind of seems like yet another ironic gangsta-street rap / hip hop thing but it's still quite interesting and some of the beats are quite good.

Look in the mirror you can see it's you
You got two nice boobs and a penis too.

Brilliant.

That nursery rhyme smoker's anthem is pretty cool too.

These lot are hilarious, the funniest, freshest thing I've heard in quite a while. Like Wat Pomp the best at the minute, but the whole album sounds great. Their videos and website are genius, I'm totally hooked!

I'd love to know what this sounds like: http://www.africandope.co.za/albums/ziggurat.htm

From wikipedia...

After a mammoth production process including mix and master by Krushed & Sorted, in December 2002 "The Ziggurat" was released. This remains one of the most ambitious and extravagant music packagings to come from South Africa: an 88 page pink hard-covered book containing a hand-written hiphop fantasy story by Waddy, which follows the adventures of two kids on a giant futuristic floating world / shopping mall called The Ziggurat, detailed etched digital illustrations by Nikhil Singh, a soundtrack CD on which Waddy plays several different characters, and a bonus blank CD at the back of the book with instructions on where to download an entire second album of music and narrations for free, with which to fill the CD.

EDIT: found preview clips here: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=43641800&id=43641935&s=1434411 abstract, underground hip hop stuff it seems. Like a South African Kool Keith almost.

Why is this so good??
yeah, that wasn't my personal opinion, just referencing what the review said.

i think it was probably more the hype and anticipation than anything else, all the music hipsters who can now crow about how they saw them. the sound on the video is shit but it was probably a little more fun to see live.

Bring out the vacuum
Die Antwoord live on stage with AFX. I was bored watching it.
