    Dubstep

Judging by the show last Friday and the conversations I was having - not least with Joy Orbison but also with Ben UFO, Atki2, Dub Boy etc etc - it's already turned the corner! More excited now than I've been since 2005...

    Dubstep

That's simply not true marcus, he raved about garage at the time and subsequently, corresponded with me about it at the time etc.

    Record storage options

Ah that's what I was looking for! Thanks...

    Record storage options

I am on the search for decent record storage options. I'm sure there was a thread or two about this before but I had a good search and there doesn't seem to be anything specific. I'm looking for wooden cubes that will be sturdy. Eden has some from B&Q that are ideal but they don't seem to do...

    Dubstep

I like chainsaw massacre but simon is proposing a false opposition between hyph mngo (which is a GREAT tune marcus! it just has too long an intro) and 'ardkore-ish sounds. I just blogged this but... played right after Joy Orbison on Friday. He played Hyph as his last tune, in its entirety...

When did dubstep lose the plot?

No, plenty out there! Still in at boomkat for sure. It's doing OK, well enough to get ERZULIE03 in the schedule... Kontext? Anstam? I just can't keep up...

MJ Cole, Ben UFO, Grievous Angel, Joy Orbison CRAZYLEGS @ Thekla Bristol Friday 31st

You got to admit this is a mentally good line up! I'm playing garage, percussive rolling dubstep, and stacks of funky house specials.

When did dubstep lose the plot?

LOL. It's tricky cos on the one hand I have tunes out etc (playing Bristol on Friday at Thekla with Ben UFO and MJ Cole!!!) but on the other I'm just a massive fan of all this stuff. The Beyond night was massive, and Kode dropping Black Sun really was a special moment, everyone on the dancefloor...

    wonky

Might be, hadn't thought of them as wonky, more glitchy post ardkore. REALLY good live, banging and interesting at the same time. And lovely people. Plus they're quite into some of my stuff.

Who's coming? This should be a good party!
  15. Grievous Angel

When did dubstep lose the plot?

Yeah that was a great moment. I got him to pull it back. Then he played Move Down Low.
  16. Grievous Angel

    Dubstep

<drags knuckles across the floor> UG Yeah you're right. I do still like a bit of midrangey wobble, especially when it crosses over into stuff grime MCs can get on. It's actually very hard to do properly! And I still REALLY like the best "mainstream" techy rollers from Benga, Skream etc...
  17. Grievous Angel

    Dubstep

hyph mngo is an anthem for the lost. works really well in the mix with some banging ragga techno. as you will discover.
  18. Grievous Angel

    Funky/London/UK House

Is there a (legal) download of this yet?
  19. Grievous Angel

    wonky

i like a bit of wobble in joker's sets but he overdoes it a bit. So. Sa Ra's Shafiq Husain ft Fatima Lil Girl. TUNE. Good enough to make me build a mix around it if I didm't have a load of other things to do.
