That's giving the music too much merit. Put more simply: Everyone likes the guitar bands they grew up with. It doesn't mean they're any good.

I've never taken any notice of Oasis (or any Britpop bands) before. It was this reunion hype that made me go and listen to a couple of their albums for the first time ever and I wasn't very impressed. Other people hating on them as well is just funny 😆
