was walking through the lower east side last night as the snow started to come in, the streets were shut to clear up from chinese new year, glitter in piles on the sidewalk, there were people playing music in one of the clothes shops, five of them with whole setup, space for about twenty five passers-by, some people probably eyes closed and swaying into it, some people curiously gawking, the guys playing were in the zone, you can tell the difference, they were squashed into the back of this this little shop with wires everywhere, two rappers trading these spacy repeating lines back and forth, a mountain man bassist with his eyes closed looking up to the heavens, some things i couldn't see going sat down on the floor

do you remember when we were talking about lydia lunch on here and @Leo got upset and stormed off. you should know from that that its divisive to chat about our former lovers on here its just a bit personal, you can see why he felt that was beyond the pale. he spent a lot of time with her in the 80s from what i understand

i met Lydia lunch at a wedding when i was 16 i think. She was very friendly we did this thing where we tried to hold the candles the bride + groom gave us btwn our upper lips and noses (i was able to do it but i can't remember if she could). Maybe a week later she came to my table on st. marks place
