why do we think the Dudes don't want to talk about this? objectively a fascinating and
rapidly developing historical situation which will have long lasting and far-reaching
implications for the entire world

1. discourse fatigue/fatigue with the polarised and antagonistic political climate in the US of A
2. support for Trump or willingness to wait and see what happens before forming a judgement
3. genuine hero worship of Musk king of the universe
4. genuine belief in tech supremacy and the sense that this is a govt commited to
tech generally and will accelerate technological development/help them make crypto fortunes
5. unwillingness to discuss US politics with foreigners
6. an unwillingness to bash deloprables (non dude american obleak is willing to say the
deplorables are stupid, vile hateful people who deserve to die but he is alone in taking this stance
7. terror/horror
8. in denial

what have i missed?

It is pretty funny that 'economic expert' Trump has bollixed this up so badly.

First he said Mexico and Canada were treating the US unfairly - cos there is a trade deficit - and he was gonna deal with that by introducing punitive tariffs.

The result of that, Americans started buying loads of Mexican and Canadian goods before the tariffs came in and the trade gap widened.

Then Canada and Mexico said they would retaliate and the US stockmarket fell like a stone as the inflation he'd promised to lower on day one continued to rise.

Then Trump pussied out and paused first the Mexican tariffs, then the Canadian one.

So the upshot is the trade gap has widened, the economy is in danger of recession, Trump has u-turned weakly as Truss did just before she resigned - oh and everyone in Mexico and Canada hates him and is boycotting US goods regardless of tariffs.
Like I said, you and the Dems have only got one thing on him.

Obleak's only bashing the deplorables because he is of deplorable stock. You missed the option that says they think Trump is doing objectively well, but they can't say that because their buddies will ostracise them viz Shaka.

Bear in mind that @IdleRich thought it would be more expensive to pay people unemployment benefit until they got a new job than to pay them 4 or 5 times that to keep them in a job which the government has decided is useless.

No I thought it would be counterproductive to fire people and lose the benefit of their work but continue paying for them to live - at a time of rising inflation and falling stockmarket. Conditions for stagflation potentially...

But don't worry, if you can't argue with people's points just attack what you want them to have said.

In philosophical debate - which you know so much about- there is a rule called the principle of charity where you interpret your opponent's view as generously as possible so you know that if you have an argument that defeats it, it will still defeat it when clarified and tightened up.

Interpreting it as meanly as possible is called the principle of being a cunt. You've gone somewhat below that one and just pretended the meaning is something else.

They fired them because they didn't need them so your point is ridiculous.

Your whole argument rests on the workers' work still being of use, but they wouldn't be firing them if that were the case.

Except for all the oness they're trying to rehire. And the firings deemed illegal. And the ones that resulted in the build-up of millions of undelivered mail packages and...

Anyway, we don't know if the others are of any use cos there was no reliable process or audit or anything... trust me bro isn't gonna work when it comes from someone totally untrustworthy.

As Musk said, there tend to be far more superfluous employees of the state than of private companies because the state will get revenue whatever.

When Musk was in the process of halving Twitter's workforce people were saying the same thing, that it would never work. But it has. What you're pointing at is "teething troubles".
