dissensus has always been blessedly free of trolls to a large extent
crazy people held their opinions sincerely
in this Silver Age we're currently experiencing it's become far more collegial, less po-faced than it used to be
you'd never have had this level of inside humor back then
it's a bit of a double-edged sword but ultimately well to the positive
as internet discourse in general has hardened, dissensus has gone other way + become more elastic
it's still a place where people can change their minds about things
yes that's trueTbh honest most of the 'characters' we are reminiscing about were quite tedious and trying. Every thread gets hijacked and derailed.

Don't forget Zhao's Polyrhythmic Cultural Revolution.
I was going to make a joke about that but I didn't want to be an assholeCraner was in love with her.
omg I somehow missed this back in the dayJuanroberto!
there's a thread titled "Teach Juanroberto Scat" and I admit I laughed
looool i thought this was going to be a jazz vocals. then i got all happy because i knew what scatting was but then you posted a link about an 'anal staircase' which i don't understand at all
I was going to make a joke about that but I didn't want to be an asshole
we emailed back and forth a bit before she disappeared from here
last I knew she was taking science prereqs so she could apply to med school
that was like idk, 6-7 years ago, so who knows
