Just been looking at the very last poem in the book, Hoopoe Hazel (a bird I've got a lot of affection for cos I see them in our local park all the time and they're cool as fuck) and noticed it has the word 'iodine' in it for some reason.

Love this sort of mystical, visionary stuff - was reading loads of St John of the Cross, Fray Luis de León and Saint Teresa of Avila over the last year. They're full of that sort of paradoxical negation. The linguistic intricacies that make them so amazing (maybe the highpoint of the Spanish poetic tradition) tend to get lost in English translations though.
