Oh by the way, I haven't mentioned the latest (and, I was gonna say, surely last but probably it won't be) of the insanely desperate straws that the Trump voters are frantically clutching huge handfuls of, but it is quite funny so it probably should go in this thread.
Since Biden was projected enough states to be President-Elect on Nov the 9th or whatever it was - in the same way as Trump was four years ago when he happily claimed it - Trump's supporters have continually moved the goalposts as to how an election is won. They first said "The media doesn't choose the president" which is technically true I guess, but as the media was just reporting on how the people had voted it was definitely splitting hairs.
Anyway, Trump and his allies refused to accept the media pointing out which states had won, then they refused to accept the states announcing the official wins... as we know the states all selected their electors and of course a majority was selected for Biden - but Trumpletons said that that selection didn't matter until they were certified (and they kept trying to stop that and trying strange wheezes such as saying that actually the legislature could appoint their own and cancel the ones the people voted for), then they were all certified and the Trumpoids said "but it doesn't matter until they cast their votes in congress, what about alternative voters, who will vote for the Donald instead?" but obviously congress ignored the "alternative electors" (who were, let's face it, just a load of mad people saying that them writing down Trump on a piece of paper somewhere was as valid as the official vote for Biden that was written down by the actual voters in an official ceremony in the state parliament according to the votes of the people) and so the total number of votes cast by state electors was 306 to 234 - exactly as the media said when they called it two months ago. But it's still not enough for Trumplets - on 6th January the Vice President opens the envelope with all the cast votes in it and reads the total to the house and apparently people can object to each one, but as it requires a majority in both houses to throw any votes out it's not gonna happen (although that does seem to imply that if one party had a majority in both bits of parliament they could in fact throw out all the votes against their guy, which surely can't be right even if it doesn't matter this time)... but the current argument doing the rounds is that VP Pence can simply choose which of the votes in the envelope to count.
