definitely culture mafia territory, went to the new museum, the theaster gates exhibition there is great. one room has this organ hooked up to what looks like six massive humungous speakers, there's cables all over the shop, but you're not allowed to play it. it looks like it would sound amazing. there's a load of videos of people singing and playing instruments as well, there aren't many arty videos of live music are there, live show DVDs or whatever either go for the documentation approach or otherwise the techniques they use aren't exactly subtle. these ones weren't in front of a crowd, they were geezers playing weird improv in rooms or abandoned buildings
