There's no banging! A lot of classical music doesn't have any drums! There are way less drums in classical music than contemporary music! What are you talking about! I'm sorry you were triggered by a couple timpanis in a Richard Wagner piece!

This sort of thing now has that same ghostliness to it that Mark and Burial talked about re: hardcore and jungle, imo.
where are all the acclaimed pre-1900 female and/or not white composers held in the same regard as Mozart et al?
Ok so listening to the Mozart above and it's definitely not for me. The rising strings are too emotive and obvious for my tastes, it's like Sigur Ros or something, reminds me of very serious Do You See post-rock. I got about three minutes in - there was a particularly sickly moment at 2:39 where a melody went full Disney soundtrack and lost me completely.
