it's just more performative. i was thinking that the very noticable fake laughing by the sophisticates at metrograph fits into all of this as well

applause at the end of the film is another one, i've seen that a fair bit . also my girlfriend thinks nothing of wanting to chat a bit here and there during the film it's an impossible situation for me because that is a crime. but she is basically feral so not a good example. she doesn't spit on the floor in the cinema, that's good

when you walk out you look around and there's fucking mountains of popcorn on the floor i think people almost do it deliberately or at least a considered lack of care

I'd go to the cinema all the time but I am such a upright arsehole I get annoyed at people eating sweets and checking their phones, even scratching their stubble chins can induce a homicidal rage in me

Isn't this black American ppl not Americans in general?

In my experience, people of color do seem to be more vocal, or clap hands or whatever, but I've also been to movies with almost all white audiences where there is still a lot of reaction from the audience.
I mean, maybe not so much at something like say, Schinder's List, where you might feel like a fool for even eating popcorn.

Does anyone on here have a nice normal girlfriend?

Mr. Tea

Let's Talk About Ceps
Well after punching me my ex disappeared, was last sighted being lifted out of the window of a squat so an ambulance could resuscitate her following an OD. Seems she then legged it before they could take her to hospital cos the police are looking for her.
Is Lisbon now covered in 'wanted' posters featuring an e-fit image and the words "Have you seen this bumhole"?

saw Good One. was great my kind if basic thing naturalistic people walking in the woods looking at people fodder for reflecting fodder for thinking about the world. what happens to old friendships, how tension develops, the practicaities and headspace of multi day hiking trips. the american outdoors and how wild it is. low budget, nothing much happening

@versh ok i finally made it out to go see Queer..... ultimately not really worth the time..... Craig is solid as a burroughs "character", but unfortunately hes speaking into a void of a counterpart who, i hate to speak in these terms, but is tiktok internet face and cant act.... this largely plays into the failed translation of drug withdrawaled longing and yearning that lee has for allerton.... yes thats supposed to be the point in the novel, a one way street of love and longing and need for sexual stimulation, stemming from withdrawal, but allerton is too much of a blank page that theres never any real connection that makes lee's longing feel real.... i also cant say i was in love with how digitally polished and clean the film looked, i never got that feel, Cronenberg really nailed the sweaty and seedy feel of Burroughs in his adaptation, i longed to be back in cronenberg's world of burroughs.... also the ending is such an groan, i dont know how to do spoilers on here but Allerton balances a glass on his head and Lee then shoots him in the face..... hey you guys know the story of when burroughs shot his wife when he was trying to hit the glass? when he put the glass on his head i was like, no way theyre actually doing this and then craig reached for a gun and EYE ROLL
