Saw Nosferatu anyhow. Hard to say that it's essential but pretty well done. Really leaned into straight-faced gothic horror to the point of campness at times without any irony which would have reduced the whole thing to a joke. Some scenes seemed to be lifted straight from The Exorcist. Definitely it passed the time. Though it would have passed anyway.

All of the Dracula films are grossly racist to East Europeans, particularly Romanians. Why am I not surprised that you lot lap this racist garbage up? Nom nom suck suck.

My favourite is the one with Gary Oldman.

^ mixed triscuits had the nerve to say that is was the compulsory singing of christian hymnals in the state mental hospital that probably made me better and got me released from the state mental hospital LLLLLLLLMMMMMMMMFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAOOOOOOO
they have no freakin' idea what went on there, and how they did absolutely nothing for nobody - it was more like a place where you did time for your crime of being different and how long your stayed depended on your "crime" and how well you kept your head down and played the game

Communal singing and religion both have noted psychological benefits in the literature.

Has no-one noticed that there has never been a flourishing atheist society?

I watched this documentary about this El Salvadorian mega prison in which they basically imprisoned everyone in the country with tattoos in case they were MS13 (and to meet their arrest quotas) locked them away for 15 years apiece in cages holding about 100 each. They let em out for an hour a day, chain them in lines and make them sing songs about Jesus. One of the cruelest things I've ever seen, these helpless hood rats being menaced into lustily singing along by machine gun guards wearing masks in case any of them actually are MS13 and somehow get a message out - which is unlikely cos phone signals are blocked for miles around.

Watching it I wondered if it was too cruel, too destructive of the remnants of humanity even in those monsters who set fire to buses filled with civilians etc but mainly I thought, does this cure people, would it help Mixed Biscuits, and then I thought - yes, yes it would.

Exactly.

Maybe the plastic leftist Dracula fan boys wouldn't have made their fascist Freudian slip had the films been helpfully titled 'Dracula or A blood and soil tale about stabbing a weird foreigner to death with Christianity'.

alright i made it out to see nosferatu.... i only saw it because this girl wanted me to see it with her.... i dozed off throughout the first half.... i was trying so hard to stay awake during the movie because i knew she wanted to see the movie.... and i could tell that she kept looking over at me.....

anyways movie was mid from what i saw.... hate how fucking drab and grey it looks, so unelegant... performances were all over the place.... lots of "acting" in the movie..... this was only nosferatu film ive seen, i was thinking of coppola dracula most of the time.... the orlok.... nothing memorable here, they just do effects for a spooky voice and make him look all rotten and decay looking.... just because you are and look disgusting, does not mean you are or look evil..... the film honestly felt more focused on the girl character, rather than the orlok..... its all about her shame desires traumas and nightmares.... oh well... i literally will not ever think of this movie.... i feel like i should try watching the other nosferatu films
