  • Duck blood noodles (鸭血粉丝汤). Top right. An incredibly iconic Nanjing dish that you can find in the dedicated duck-blood-noodle joints that dot the city. A snack or a quick meal, the soup consists of glass noodles served amongst coagulated duck blood and duck organ, all in a duck-stock-based soup.

2 tonight and just about to crack open one more

I've started doing quite a lot of exercise this year, going on 7km runs 2 or 3 times a week, so I'm actually in better shape than ever, but the beer belly remains.

try and avoid running if you can. it destroys your knees. really, really bad for you. just have a walk instead which you can do with a can in your hand.
First couple of months I fucked my knees up quite badly a couple of times, but I've figured it out now, it's all to do with your running style and how you plant your feet on the ground. If I stopped drinking and smoking I could probably do a marathon, I love it.

Good shoes and running on soft surfaces is supposed to help too.

Read somewhere the other day that it's a myth that running fucks up your knees, it only happens when you try and do to much too soon, you have to build it up slowly. I fucked up my knees and my ankle in the first couple of months but I'm past that now, don't have any problems any more and I'm running a lot further distances.

Might get back into wine again, that doesn't make you fat does it?

red wine equates to about 110 calories per glass

alternating between a cold glass of water and a glass of room temp wine offsets a % of hangover brutality but the calories .. not so much, a wee trick for not finishing a 6 glass bottle limit

plus you’re in Spain - La Mancha alone you could spend a lifetime exploring all its glories, bars tend to offer more wines by the glass too so you’re not stuck with a bottle that (maybe) didn’t hit the spot

no idea how vine health can be sustained in endless 45 degree summers though

*overwhelming thirrrrrrrrst nowwwwwwwww

So wine makes you fat as well?

I do a fair bit of exercise so it's not so much the calories I'm worried about, it's just beer seems to go straight to your belly. Is there such thing as a wine belly?
