Just listened to 'Ironman' the whole way through (although I got bored by the end and was f-fwording through stuff). Will probably never listen to it all the way through again. 😢

listened to this yesterday stoned off my tits and it really jumped out at me how amazingly stripped back the beat is (the drums lurching along a subbass you can't always hear on e.g. the ear buds I'm listening on now) and how loose and unorthodox raekwons style is.

And just (this is where the voyeuristic suburbanite getting some cool by proxy comes in) how grimy 90s New York it all is, especially when you watch the video. (I was laughing a bit at some of said video, the mean mugging through the fence.)

ive gone somewhat deep into gza and rae, theres lots of gems, but ive always wanted to go deep and listen to every wu tang member project. seems like a insanely deep well

i just got home from this. ive had oppurtunities to see certain members but always missed it.

tonight was excellent.

GZA was first with this backing ban led by ODB's eldest brother. GZA mightve been the best tonight, he played several tracks from Liquid Swordz, 36 Chambers, and beneath the surface, and a couple tracks i admittedly did not know. I was super impressed with how he would flow and transition from one song to the next and how fast and energetic it all was.

about 20 min after his set, Raekwon and Ghostface came on playing several classics form their albums (36 chambers, cuban linx, clientele some other songs i didnt recognize), a highlight was Rae doing Mobb Deep's verse on Eye for an Eye, and cappaonna came on too, he was solid but honestly sounded at times like a motor engine spitting out its last breaths. I have to be honest in saying that while Ghostface is my fav member, I didn't find him to be as energetic, clear, and enthused as GZA and Rae. Raekwon was excellent and very easy to hear and understand. Overall it was a great show and im glad ive finally see three guys ive been listening to for over a ddecade now. i was chided in middle and high school and called an oldhead for listening to them. i still listen to them to this day. Rae gave a very motivational speech after the show which i appreciated.
