oh it's so ludic. etc. etc.
re me and dusk v joe nice, it's on next time joe's in the country. we've deliberately held back lots of early lost dubs for this very reason.
skream on the other hand is seriously making this disco clash not happen!
Plus Pitchfork Year in Wot Do U Call It 2009 live now.
Great article, but you can't have no Guido on the list... That's some of the best music of the decade, let alone the year!
"non dnb dubstep" we've got DJG and Jus Wan..
there's also Vaccine in san diego but strangely hardly anyone I know likes her stuff. I think that will change at some point.
so i get sent stuff from Jus Wan, and i've heard some stuff from vaccine, DJG and some Argon, and to my ears it didn't stand out just now, praps there's more to come.
the article isn't a list of what came out in 09 but what i'd honestly recommend to people, so things need to seriously stand out.
guido i'd accept, though i suppose i forgot as we were playing those in 08.
have realised one big omission: pev's the bluez. #dickheadting.... will need to make amends.
i gotta say martin, not mentioning Ramadanman/Pearson Sound or the Hessle Camp seems like a big omission..
Hessle and Hemlock (along with hyperdub and keysound) are surely the biggest labels of the year. proper visionary business.
I also think more could be made of Oneman. He's arguably had the biggest year of anyone in and around the dubstep scene. And as DJ his pioneering role in mixing dubstep with other music around the same tempo has perhaps been as influential as any label or producer. The fact he's helped to bring producer's like Numan, SRC and Deadboy very quickly to people's attention this year shows how influential he's become imo.
