Some of you into making Garagey stuff may be interested in watching these vids. I thought they were really informative and easy to follow.

Very accomplished!
Wola is great definitely my favourite, the beats seem to bounce better, in the other tunes there are bits where the beats sound a bit congested.
Also the hats seem far too loud in the mix in most of the tunes

Been up to lots of garagey stuff lately, wonder what you guys think:

yeah, i like the first track, well done good stuff. i like the orchestral feel, nicely produced, beats are crisp.

drums are a bit reverby (its like you used too big a space reverb, not sure if its the best choice to my ears. if you toned it down a little, maybe adjust the wet signal then i think the drums would be better, might be a taste issue though)

oh and maybe the drums are sitting a little close to the front of the mix for me.

really like track 3, "not her anyway" these are good stuff. got the same feeling on finding a bit more space in the mix if possible.

but, yes, very good. well done.

ha, sorry to reduce your work into generic drug fair. it was kind of a joke. but they do have a sort of slow, druggy groves.

is there a place to purchase them, i don't mind doing that.

Finally finished a second track (much delayed by old computer dying)

It's a 138bpm dubstep/nu-garage thing, in the same region as Brackles, Wigflex, etc.

Feedback would be much appreciated, thanks

It really lacks any pace until 3 minutes in, the first part really luls too much. I'd take the idea that you have from 3:00-4:30 and just expand on that.

Thanks Ian, sometimes you need fresh ears to enable you to hear objectively.

Back to the drawing board!

I've made a more insistent bassline and I'm beefing up the rhythm to give it more push.
Will also bring the lead synth in in the first part.
Will re-post when i've made more progress

this is pretty mad - does anyone make tracks on one of these here?

It's a performance tool rather than a composing tool. You load up Ableton with pre-recorded / programmed clips and then use that box to trigger them and control effects etc.
