I'm speechless. Or I would be if I hadn't decided at about 7.30 tonight that football is a wank game and everyone who likes it is a cunt.

Best decision I've made in ages.

that's some  shit. god knows i loathe the cunts, but i want them to fail on the pitch, not thru asset stripping oportunists.

well said.

unrelatedly, i've been enjoying the slightly mental weather this winter, but jesus how backed up must the fixture lists be by now?

what you said.

Alty had two games scheduled the other night - one at your place, of course.

fortunately both were cancelled.. ;)

we have played seven games in all competitions between the first of November and now

recent Altrincham results from BBC Sport

the fact that some Conf games (including AFC) managed to be played on New Year's Day just astounds me, good stuff.

mind it was about minus 18 up here at that time, to be fair to the groundstaff.

Why does everyone refer to this as a disastrous season for liverpool? It's not like they've won the league in 20 years. They'll finish seventh at worst.

They can come back. Sol Campbell did.

um, do you realise how much debt they are in, and how much they stand to lose if they miss out on the champions league?

scott - darlington have only played 7 too.

but it's sort of stopped their losing streak in it's tracks... wrexham and chester haven't played much either.

African Cup of Nations isn't turning out as expected - Gabon beating Cameroon, Ivory Coast drawing with Burkina Faso, Malawi humping Algeria

Yeah, was just being very drunk and incoherent. True, the CL income is vital. I guess I'm just enjoying watching Rafa fall apart so much that I don't see it as a problem. I like Liverpool as a club well enough, but Rafa is a bit of a knob. As is Gerrard. Torres is an amazing player and will settle well somewhere else (please let it be Arsenal [unlikely I know]), as he and Arshavin together could be devastating.

yup, can't emphasise enough how sorry i feel for Darlo, rattling around in that big old ground. 7 games since November for full-timers must be incredibly frustrating; still, unlike Alty, at least they have the benefit of training a lot.

i wonder if Alty and Darlo are a English record in this regard?! :D

certainly i don't know of any other senior English teams off the top of my head w only seven notches since November. (even Gateshead have got eleven games in during that period! only nine for Chester, who are similarly f'ed to Darlo because of the deduction, poor sods :( )

From the Guardian. This guy seriously needs to be on British TV.

darlington off again. their last competitive match was 12th december.next scheduled match is on tuesday. they only have one week where they don't have midweek fixtures between now and the 9th march and that is before today's match has been rescheduled.

absolute bummer.

plenty of L1 and 2 and Conference (and lower NL) games off again i see, but, as folks may have seen, Alty in 'first league game since December 5th' shock.

the weird one that gets me today is Pompey. their pitch usually drains well and NL teams in the Portsmouth area are playing. one of those days i guess.

so grateful the Alty was scheduled at Ebbsfleet, Alty's pitch should be alright for a week today as this thaw continues, but, otherwise..

...in other news, if you have cashflow gripes, move to Greece's second city, and open up a shop selling fireworks and bog-roll
