That is the stuff I like the most. I wouldn't want to listen to it all night though and think it sounds better if you mix up all of the styles of Funky in a set.

This tune is a quality bit of Grime pretending to be Funky :D

i think theres the possibility of overanalysing this. a couple of months ago i was loving all the tough funky, mak10 sets etc. now its the summer, so for the moment its all about the lighter fun stuff, like donaeos album, maxwell d, the heatwave's rinse show and this mix

For me, that Maxwell dude is just ruining great tracks. His vocals are too loud as well. Let those beats breathe. Most of that music is good enough to stand alone.

The OG producers must be raging he's just giving away their beats?

I'm not feeling him on all the tracks I've heard but he's well good on Blackberry Hype.

dunno but toddla t played it on kiss back in january 2008, so its been around for a while

Blackberry Hype works well - and I think I'm going to miss the vocal on Different - but I can't help finding the intro, "All my blah blah crew" embarassingly corny..
