^Anyone what relishes the mode of music production over the outcomes (just thinking of a Theo Parrish interview a while ago he was saying how real producers have to do stuff on analogue equipment etc, snore...)

Anyone taking music production away from the democracy of young and broke people making it on cheap/free/cracked software gets the thumbs down.

mice locating and somehow infiltrating my stash of jamon serrano last night. i had to throw what was left away. and this was the good shit, imported (smuggled) by hand from spain.

i'm so upset about this i can barely.. no, no, it's still too painful. it's too soon.

is there a 'mice murder' thread? if not watch this space.

There's a law against bringing it in?

i'm a bit confused by the laws in this area, cos you can usually buy jamon (and chorizo) in the duty free bits of spanish airports, albeit in small quantities, in packets. however i'm also pretty sure you're not allowed to just stick a leg of jamon in your bag - there are usually signs up prohibiting taking meats or cheeses out of the country, i think. something to do with disease maybe? or protectionism? i'm not sure really.

anyway if it is a law it's one i've happily broken several times, that stuff is too good not to.

Not protectionism (strictly EU verboten) for sure. Possibly some odd disease-related thing, although a Spanish ex-flatmate of mine used to bring those big chunks of it back with him all the time. I used to look forward to his home visits for that reason (that and the fact he was lazy, boring and smoked too mcuh).

Yeah, it was a DeepChord interview that gave me the arse in particular. I mean, I quite like their music, but you must have a fucking boring life if it's only your vintage compressor that gets you inspired to make music...

I thought the restrictions only applied when bringing in stuff from outside the EU?

yeah then i think it must be a disease thing, and i can't find any evidence of it online (can't find the right bit of the foreign office site or whatever) - but i'm sure i've seen evidence of non-airport-bought meats being banned from carriage through customs at the spanish end.. maybe i dreamt it..

I'm pretty sure there are restrictions on moving some food around even inside the EU, I thought it was a disease thing.

The prices in Notting Hill MVE.

Thirty Five quid for a rather average digital reggae 12"! I laughed out loud, then headed for the bargain bin and got two records for two quid each.

West London, honestly...

men or women who wear far too much aftershave or perfume, i was talking to a woman at work and i didnt hear a word she said cos her perfume was so overbearing. i am now going to have to find an excuse to phone her and ask her what she was on about.
