Man I love juke, haven't been excited about music since I don't know when. So energetic, so much the contrary to all those bleak post-dubstep stuff. Things are wild and unstructured. Anyone knows if DJ Rashad is touring through Europe again soon and does anyone know the tracks being played in that vid?
Sorry for my recent absence..been busy trying to establish the label's foundations and such.
The album will be available for quite a reasonable price...the wait has been far too long but we're here. The tracklisting is slightly revised from what I posted a while back. Still a huge release, packed full of heat. We are filling it full of mostly 2011-present work tho a one or two from as far back as '06 have snuck on there.
Here's an explanation of the most recent delay:
Unfortunately, the album, or a smaller selection was going to be licensed and released on vinyl/cd via LIT CITY TRAX and Planet Mu with a digi release with bonus trax on Lit City simultaneously. The offer was too good to refuse, so we delayed mastering and proceeding as they picked a smaller tracklisting from our release. This would have given us the chance to start releasing vinyl immediately after the deal went through.
Unfortunately due to sampling issues, they recently decided to abandon this particular project. It's a shame that the trax they chose from our release won't all make it onto wax but we will do our best to make a 12" with some Rashad trax.
So the first Rashad album "DJ RASHAD TEKLIFE VOL. 1: WELCOME TO THE CHI" will be out in March with all good digital distributors, and some weird ones. Exact date TBC but I think it'll be in the first two weeks.
Feeling is definitely on there. It was first made by Manny. He left the samples in Spinn's MPC and Rashad remade it without ever hearing Manny's version. They're both brilliant and quite differently arranged and chopped. Feelin has a part 2, called 'KUSH AIN'T LOUD'. U can peep them blending (c/o Rashad) here:

In other news, TEKLIFE vol. 2 is a split EP with a few collabo's between two of the Tekz. Won't mention who or when it's coming out just yet.
Rashad is touring Europe with Spinn again very soon. They'll be around April 20th-May 28/29th. Long tour. If anyone needs to get in touch with their booking agent, holler. I'll get you a tracklisting when I peep the video but FUCK THE TRIBE. They're a terrible bunch of con men for the most part. I was working with them, even got them to NY and opportunities to go abroad...they're bad dancers and common theives. Pay attention to TALIBAN aka THE BAN and their sub crew T.O.G aka Take Ova Gang, RED LEGENDS (the best of the best who still footwork: Manny, Que, AG, Lite Bulb, Poo, Darreon n more), Terra Squad and Leaders of the New School (Both AGs crews), NU ERA (Lite Bulbs group post TS)...I don't take to many others as seriously tho I respect everyone who footworks. Every group has alright or pretty decent dancers...tho a lot of people don't take time and learn and hit the basics (the fundamentals and roots of the dance itself).
Def peep the WNYU mix of Lit City Heat...Serato box was busted so we had to do an internal Traktor mix...but that came out interesting with the FX unit lol:
Trax and I helped compile this with Mike. He picked some trax off mixes and others we sent without him hearing first. The mix itself....it's not bad but some of the blends are quite sudden and/or off beat...footwork is an art and best mixed properly (on beat, long blends, tricks, cuttin on the mixer etc). Traxman has his own version of the mix but he has to reup to one of his 3 soundclouds lol..til then he has a mix of trax he's made in the last coupla weeks:

Manny makes 5-15 trax a day. It's insane.
Everyone's been stepping it within the Ghettoteknitianz. Daily.
His album is nearly done. It's insane so far. There will have to be a vol. 2 for Traxman soon after cus there's too many ones to choose from.
Lastly, if anyone has a chance to catch Kode9 soon, do it. He's had a bag of Lit City dubs no one except the guys and Zomby have..straight heat. He's been rinsing them recently.

Also, got a secret show Wednesday with Loefah Rashad Spinn Manny myself and Falty DL b2b Dave Q at Cameo in BK NYC and Saturday, a Warehouse rave in Brooklyn.
Lastly, none of the guys are with Ghettophiles anymore. As far as I'm aware, their roster which started as all Ghettoteknitianz except DJ Tameil....is now, Footwork free. Bad business practice. They've had a new owner since Neema went M.I.A. somewhere in rural Columbia...or was it the rainforest in Costa Rica...either way...

I'm going to upload snippets of Rashad's Teklife Vol.1 tomorrow or day after while Rashad, Spinn and Manny are in NYC. Then I'll see how people react. Have a fairly rigid idea for a 6 track 12" but as always, Rashad will make more heat, and I will have to bump something off.

Pay attention on soundcloud. There's new tracks and mixes going up every day from the GhettoTekz. Traxman has 3 soundclouds. Think 2 are active ... Corky Strong (Geto Djz) is the other one...
Gonna set up studio tonite at Rusty Santos spot. We will be makin some heat in there...maybe a few collabs with some UK people while they in town.

Thougth this was an interesting point worth highlighting. Especially the bit about "long blends". Something that should be adopted more across all genres. Less 'drops'.

i wanna know if anyone outside of critics/dance intelligentsia/hipsters are into juke/footwork too.
traxman album sounds like it could be amazing from the mike paradinas mix... i dont need to hear any more stevie-sampling footwork though! prefer the more techno-y stuff (stevie is god-like but ive yet to hear him sampled by a footwork producer in an interesting way).
