Of course I am probably barking up the wrong tree and am quite drunk by this point, but chew on that for a while why don't you

Errr... Was making more sense to me last night tbh during the drinking session. The parental anxiety thing is definitely a thing in Blake's SOE, little girl lost, Lyca laying down with the wild beasts and all that, so i was thinking of that probably. As for how it relates to the Prynne, I'm not really sure what i was thinking about now, will have to look at it again, but there are definitely at least some traces of Blake in that voll verdienst one, that much I at least demonstrated...I think lol

RADIANT IN MOMENT

Just beyond first gaze could now be seen
almost, among the leaves barely moving
in the light breeze, the playful scatter
of reflections in answer, each to other.
Here pause with scant reason, stay quiet,
such a cloud or so in the sky; in patience,
expectancy, what arrives is itself, eyes
familiar with occasion, small sounds as
fingers of visitation from the air currents
open the view to thought's slim inwardness;
coming forward to meet the certain moment
close to competition. Then will be known
what has been known oft before, repeating
its sufficient truth, to be seen fully, and
understood: fortune in fire beyond desire.

woops

is not like other people
I can't say off hand which book that's from, but several of his new volumes use a trick whereby the first poem is reasonably"normal", after which he reverts to what the actual f--- is this.

Here's a question: Prynne's obviously got loads of followers and is very influential - are there any other contemporary poets from the cult that are worth checking out? Or just pale imitations? Has he nurtured any protégés that are worth reading?

I'm guessing the answer I'll receive is "no" but you never know.

You should maybe start a thread with examples of poems by all these names you're giving me, if only just to tear them to shreds. Could be a laff

I'll have a scout around tomorrow, got a couple of days off work.

Intrigued by "Science Sam" and "Jim", is that their noms de plume?
