I'm not advocating sitting this stuff out though. You are. My politics are marginal, that's why I'm *forced* to sit this stuff out. Key difference.

Participate/not participate, nothing substantial will change. If you're into people publically torturing themselves with their deflections to piety, then be my guest. I'm saying your basic democratic action isn't even an action. It's just tickboxing. That's it. Whether people decide or not decide to vote doesn't really concern me, the extreme religious importance people give to it is a problem, however.

So we agree then? I agree that delegitimising the referendum wouldn't have worked. I'm just taking a different angle to it. There's no particular reason why a mass abstaining wouldn't have formulated a different trajectory - but of course it was never going to happen, and I have conceded as much.

I'm saying that abstaining provides avenues for opening up different possibilities. Not that it inter alia will or even inevitably will.

actually I don't know why I'm even bothering. I can sense you trying to goad me across various threads but you don't want to engage in a way beyond antagonism, you divert any topic towards your own personal niche interests so you can boast about your esoteric politics and tastes without having to seem self-congratulatory, your position is never open to change or understanding, your logic is impossible to follow and feels wilfully obtuse, and interacting with you feels like talking to a small spoiled child with less ego control. Everyone else seems happy to treat you like a missing stair because you post some good hardcore tunes now and again but actually the Youtube algorithm could probably do the work for me. I'm going to tap out of this because life is too short.

In a way I;m trying to attain that in as sustainable a way as possible (which isn;t saying much), in order to prototype it as a viable option for a wider window of people, even if that window is ultimately confined by these or those bourgeois parameters.

For me it also involves a heavy intake of information, which is more meaningfully absorbed if you are able to libidinally poise yourself to receive it. Say, being riveted by a biology lecture.

Politics is antagonism. I'm asking you questions and you're just throwing mud at me. You know it's easy to admit you have no answers. And I'm willing to change my position if someone can convince me I'm wrong, which you can't do, instead deciding to throw abuse my way. Don't play the shining of roses act.

Sort of like, processing the situation is more important and fundamental than acting within in it. I think action ought to be overdetermined... if that word can be used how I think it can.

No, people are willing to treat me like a 'missing stair' because despite the arguments we've had, they realise I'm not chatting out of my arse and that my points aren't mere trolling.
