You can have a self-driving organization wherein no human has bureaucratic authority over another human. Of course, you can still have hierarchy in a DAO if you want.
In this case, there would be hierarchy though, and credentials that take the form of non-fungible tokens. I've used USDT several times, primarily as a mediator between other assets, and I've sent a total volume of $10k - $15K USDT, and have had no problems regarding stability. But as I understand it, the scrutiny is more about the issuance and backing of the asset.
USDT is the biggest stablecoin by market cap and by trading volume, and is the largest crypto asset, period, by trading volume. The crypto ecosystem at large depends heavily on USDT, it would seem.
