Just what are bus drivers so miserable ? The other I got on the bus I was the last in the queue and saw a woman may 10 yards running for the bus. I said to the driver hold a sec and he said 'im the driver' and drove off and I has a rant at him and he said 'you wanna get off too'. What makes them have such a shitty attitude. Luckily I can usually walk to work unless its raining hard.

another bike one - people who park with their cars sticking out into bike lanes. now, I don't mind riding in traffic & I don't require bike lanes - tho they are great of course, esp. for people who want things a bit lower-key (or for for all those moms & dads towing kids behind) & just to encourage cycling in general - but if it's there, it's like, respect it. it's a fucking bike lane. the whole point is to for people TO BIKE IN IT.

another one that drives me crazy is people who, despite a friendly verbal heads-up from a healthy distance, insist on opening their doors either right in front of me or right into me so that I have to swerve out to avoid getting doored. I know everyone's in a rush to get somewhere but jesus, you're going to get someone killed.

also people who turn abruptly right (it'd be left for you guys) w/o signaling first.

and on a related note, it's true, people who get on public transportation and expect not to have to sit next to anyone are the worst. I tell you, that ish does not fly on the El or buses in Chicago.

People who park in contraflow bike lanes are the best. That really should be a capital offense.

People who don't signal in general...wtf??? It's usually older men in trucks.

I've found that terrible driving, contrary to all any # of stereotypes, is a universal affliction, cutting across race, gender, class, etc. elderly people are particularly bad drivers but that makes sense b/c the physical skills they need for driving are in decline. my default attitude is to assume that all drivers can't drive and/or are drunk/on drugs and to ride accordingly.

The only solution to that is to squeeze past them to occupy the window seat. Oh sorry, are you finding this degree of physical proximity to a stranger uncomfortable? Never mind, perhaps next time you get on a bus you won't be so precious about personal space, eh?

The other thing is why do these people insist on sitting on the outside seat, even after it becomes clear they are going to have to sit next to someone else? Why do they never shift across to the window seat? They won't even get up to let the other person past so instead they need to squeeze by, which just makes the whole thing even more awkward.

Absolute radio does my head in (I think I've heard Freebird every day this week), but even more so the way the person says decade in their song of the decade advert. Although I did smile when they said people had been undermining the poll by consistently voting for McFly songs.

Oh yes. I agree. I tend to think I'm the only decent driver on the road, but I actually drive too fast. (Not that I drive all that much...) It's just that where I live right now there's a strangely disproportionate number of older guys with huge trucks who don't signal their turns or lane changes, as if you're supposed to read their minds and avoid hitting them. I don't get it!

I find it really cringey when grown people use the word boobs, it's just such a terrible initialising word.

i love boobs and i love saying the word boob.

in every way better than the medical examiner's "breasts" or the welfare barflies' "tits".

A political/community newsletter I had a hand in producing recently was criticised for featuring Girls Alouds' "bosoms" too prominently.

agreed, but there are much, much worse words, that I can't even bring myself to type.

Meant to type infantilsing (is that even a real word) but autocorrected it to initialising!

I just find it funny when grown women use it cos i always thought it was something gawping young men would say about them in a kinda demeaning way.
