I'd imagine this is even more prevalent in the US, where, while some people have relatives/contacts who have been directly harmed/killed/dislocated because of this conflict, the majority of people apprehend the situation in a more purely abstract sense, to which they react by toeing culture-party lines. Most of us just seem so far removed from the actual conflict.

this war has actually rejuvenated nato like nothing else. especially the fact that finland has joined, because that gives all sorts of great strategic advantages and the ability to lock russia out of the baltic sea. that will mean a lot when it comes to the actual confrontation.
