Anyway, if Version had ever green-lighted my "99 racist oi records and one John Holt record" ((c) Luka) top 100, this would have been in it - the only Satanic Oi! tune I know of...nice Black Sabbath sample too

Missed your original post!...discovered Night Dubbing last year when I visited Bunnyhausen, who has an amazing track record for casually playing life-changing bangers.

a few years ago I introduced my mother to the love of my life, and for whatever reason my mum embarked on a rant about how I had guilt tripped her and my dad into actually taking us on a budget holiday beyond the boundaries of the UK, and it brought back memories of being enclosed on a coach for 48 hours and the driver said "I will play your cassette tape" and the only people who actually had a C90 were the wedge cut pixy boot / tasselled loafer brigade from the east end, so for the next two days we listened to Imagination's greatest hits on repeat, so I've sort of got a soft spot for them

I don't know why but I had smuggled a 1/4 pint bottle of amyl nitrate obtained from the fetish shop on the Kings road with me, which proved to be a bit of a hit with the soul boys and the temporary drummer for the Flux of Pink Indians and the punkettes from wigan who we hooked up with on arrival on the campsite...

good times

although "Satanic Oi!"

you must have read the NEL classic "Skinhead" by "Richard Allen"?

wasn't the final chapter set in a graveyard, with the protagonist ruminating on Crowley?

Haha yeah, was 'Bootboys'...much better than Skinhead, lol. Need to wrap up a teen aggro pulp novel that's going nowhere? Just mention the lead psycho is obsessed with Crowley and does a naked ritual in a churchyard :ROFLMAO:

my memory is obviously failing me!

too many NEL paperbacks...

[ edit: in my defence, I did specialise in the NEL "hell's angels" "autobiographies" ]

I only really remember that one because Bootboys, Punk Rock, Glam and Mod Rule are so insane, they make Stewart Home's parodies look 'normal'. Worst was Knuckle Girls, which should be called "Diary Of A Social Worker", despite the great cover.

Pseudo Goldie leads into trance breakdown into marvellously goofy happy hardcore riff. The tune and the title make a clear statement: whatever genre you start off in, if you achieve complete artistic freedom you will inevitably end up bashing out a glorious happy hardcore riff.

When I think about how cool PJ and Smiley are, it makes me want to cry. Here they are on Peel in the summer of 1990 rapping over the tune in which they first sampled Deman of the Ragga Twins, leading to their subsequent partnership. And that’s none other than a young DJ Hype on the decks. The second tune’s on a ‘reality rap’ social justice tip.
