ehh Jews and jewish insitutions are attacked on a regular basis in Europe now. This event is hardly a surprise, then, but of course you lot think it is because they are "provocating".. Get a grip.

You're pretending the actions described above didn't take place then, or do you just not feel that stuff reaches the level of provocation?

it's truly insane to see this story develop and how it's being told in the media. it's part of what made the last year so crazy. that the things you know are real are being presented in a completely opposite way and that now, you are the extremist, the fundamentalist, the terrorist, and not the actual mob of thugs that are commiting a genocide.

this says it all really.

Maccabi supporters attacked taxi and burned Palestine flag, police say

Peter Holla tells reporters in Amsterdam Maccabi supporters attacked a taxi and set a Palestinian flag on fire on Wednesday.

He says trouble continued into the early hours of Thursday.

Holla goes on to say that after the match on Thursday evening, Maccabi supporters were walking through the city centre and "rioters" carried out "hit-and-run" attacks targeting at the Israeli supporters.

Holla says it was "extremely difficult" for police to prevent this kind of "violence" - even though officers were there "in great numbers".

The Amsterdam police chief adds officers decided to "assemble" Maccabi supporters and "protect them" - taking them to hotels in coaches.

It's basically a case of hooligans being hooligans, starting shit and fighting, but because they're Israeli it's being spun as them being victims of a pogrom rather than a group of dickheads getting themselves into trouble.

Certainly sounds that way, yes.

What's also obnoxious about this kind of thing is that every time it happens, it makes people more likely to dismiss or downplay genuine antisemitic violence.

they weren't "just" hooligans. these were hooligans from the most racist club of israel and had among them mossad agents (confirmed), and idf soldiers on leave (confirmed) and did not seek a confrontation with the rival club (ajax) but with the citizens of amsterdam, especially with pro-palestine activists and dutch-moroccan people. new footage has emerged that shows them not only on the friday before the match molesting people and chanting genocidal songs but also on saturday after the match where they went into the city centre armed with sticks and metal poles looking to cause trouble. people had been warning this would happen already weeks before, because they had already almost killed a person in athens for waving a palestinian flag when they had to play against olympiakos in march.

and instead of everybody jumping on this vile and racist group of hooligan thugs that terorrized the citizens of amsterdam, the events are being presented as if a pogrom had happened against jewish people. it's beyond absurd with even the king of the netherlands making statements referring to the kristallnacht and fucking joe biden speaking out. the whole thing is symptomatic of the way the media is covering the genocide in gaza.

During World War II the children in British major cities were evacuated to the countryside to live with foster parents. Why has it taken to evacuate the children from Gaza? It's been more than a year?

@yyaldrin - you may be convinced there's no difference whatsoever between the two American parties with respect to Israel, but far-right politicians in Israel disagree:

Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said on Monday at a Religious Zionism party meeting that during President-elect Donald Trump's previous term, "We were just a step away from applying sovereignty over the settlements in Judea and Samaria [the West Bank], and now the time has come to do it."

Smotrich welcomed Trump's election victory, noting his success "against the establishment media, elites, and celebrities," as he put it.

"After years in which, unfortunately, the current administration chose to interfere in Israeli democracy and personally refused to cooperate with me as Israel's finance minister, Trump's victory also brings an important opportunity," Smotrich said, adding that "2025 is the year of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria. The new Nazis need to pay a price through land that will be permanently taken from them, both in Gaza and in Judea and Samaria."

If the marches focussed on evacuating children rather than buying into Hamas' PR trick of letting them be bombed to smithereens there would be precious few children being killed at the moment.

Don't you think the children should have been evacuated like Britain evacuated its children? Which Palestinian parent would not want their child as far as possible from a war zone? One can only assume that Hamas have dictated that they stay there.

In the same vein, it was Israel that proposed the humanitarian camps, not Hamas. Hamas would probably prefer as many civilians around as possible to obscure their movements and inflame the simple-minded like you Mr Fruit Bunnnnnn.
