reasonable it may be, but it is still cloud coocoo land. The ruling class does not rule according to its amalgamated collective wish like the social contract theorists suppose, but rule (more or less unconsciously) necessary to the maintenance of the capitalist state. A ruling class which ruled by ideological consent alone could be easily won over to socialism.
